Who We Are
The Good Funeral Guild website is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors and dedicated to the privacy of data submitted. In accordance with GDPR laws, we want to provide full transparency with our visitors by detailing what data we collect and / or store, why we need this information, how it is handled and kept secure. This policy outlines this in specific detail and so we encourage you to read on. The submission of any data on this website will require consent from the visitor by checking a consent confirmation button / checkbox before the submission can be sent. By consenting, you are formally acknowledging that you have read this Privacy Policy and are giving full consent to the collection, handling and storage of that data as outlined here.
Types of Data We Collect
Website Cookies:
Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. For example, by allowing cookies, our website may remember the name you used to comment on a blog post to save you having to type it again. This applies to all fields of submission across the website. The search and directory portion of the website may also remember previous searches for you or preferences of selection previously chosen. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. By clicking any link on the site, a visitor is consenting to our storage of cookies. By default, cookies are only stored for up to 30 days and are automatically removed after that.
Google Analytics:
When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Contact Form:
Our Contact Form on the Contact Page, requires Name, Email and Phone information alongside a message. Any data you submit through this contact form is not visible to other visitors or shared with anyone other than the necessary recipients within The Good Funeral Guild administration. The Good Funeral Guild website does not log or store contact form submissions. The website acts as a middle man to forward submissions to the administrative email account responsible for handling contact form correspondence. As a contact form submission can only be sent by ticking the consent button, consent of handling that data is automatically proven.
Subscribing:
We do not collect or store any form of payment information through this website. However, to subscribe to The Good Funeral Guild, you are given the option to make your subscription payment weekly, monthly or yearly by clicking a PayPal subscribe button. This button links directly to an external page handled by PayPal. All information and data involved with this transaction is handled and / or stored by PayPal. This page as provided by PayPal will also provide you with links to their Privacy Policy, User Agreement and Key Payment and service information if you wish to know more about them. We have no control of how their systems handle data, but we do not handle or store anything involved with subscription through this website or it’s databases. The only information we receive regarding subscriptions goes directly to our own PayPal account and admin Email account (fran.hall@goodfuneralguide.co.uk) associated with handling subscriptions.
Newsletter:
When you subscribe to The Good Funeral Guild, you have the option to be added to our mailing list for the occasional Newsletter. We do not share your information with anyone else, but may need to use your email address to correspond with you. On subscribing to the Guild you will receive an introductory email which will also ask you whether you would like to opt-in or out of receiving the newsletter. If you opt-in and change your mind later, as we use the Mailchimp platform, every newsletter comes with a button at the bottom allowing you to unsubscribe.
